This Festival is a celebration of Houston’s #1 mixed beverage, the margarita, and is the largest of its kind in the United States. "Everything Margarita" defines the Festival including a "Best Margarita Competition" where Houston's top margarita makers (restaurant/bars & mixologists) compete for bragging rights and prizes. Other activities include a salsa dance competition with $1,500 in cash prizes, live entertainment to provide the perfect backdrop
to the Festival, a limbo competition, arts &crafts vendors and some really great food vendors so you have something to wash down with your margaritas.
Celebrating its 11th anniversary, the Houston Margarita Festival has become one of the hottest festivals in Houston. Part of the Festival’s attraction is that it takes advantage of one of Houston’s newest venues, The Water Works. This underground cavern was where the City of Houston originally stored its Downtown water supply. Attendees are encouraged to take a tour of this striking underground cavern.
